this year we are proud to announce choices in the subject matter of our
adventures. This will give you, the educator greater freedom to
select the curriculum
that may fit with what you are teaching in class.

![]() TRACK A: "THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY" This ninety minute adventure studies which insects farmers love and which they dislike as well as how beneficial insects are used in organic farming practices. Through a video, talk and hands on demonstration a greater understanding and appreciation will be had by the student regarding the challenges in organic farming. Included in the ninety minute field trip is berry picking (strawberry or raspberry whichever is in season) whereby the class will take a hayride out to the berry fields to enjoy picking a pint of berries. Colorado Teaching Standards: Life Science 3.1 & 3.3 Costs: $5.00/student (minimum charge: $75.00) TRACK B: "TO BEE OR NOT TO BEE": This ninety minute field trip explores the fascinating world of bees. An informative video and talk as well as a tour of the Honey House will compliment the student's understanding of bees and their respective importance in agriculture. Included in the ninety minute field trip is berry picking (strawberry or raspberry whichever is in season) whereby the class will take a hayride out to the berry fields to enjoy picking a pint of berries. Colorado Teaching Standards: Life Science 3.1; Math 1 & 4. Costs: $5.00/student (minimum charge: $75.00)

TRACK C:
"FIELD TO FORK" This ninety minute field trip explores how crops
are grown and harvested including water and soil subtopics. Through a
video and talk and hands on exhibits including the new discovery garden, students will have a better perspective on
how things grow "down on the farm." Included in the ninety minute field
trip is berry picking (strawberry or raspberry whichever is in season), hayride
to the field to pick a pint of berries. Colorado Teaching Standards:
Life Science 3.4, 4.1, 5; History 4.1 Costs: $5.00/student

TRACK D: "WEATHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT" This ninety minute field trip addresses how the weather deeply impacts the farmer. By demonstrating the hail canon and wind machine as well as a video on weather, students will gain knowledge as to why the farmer is always looking up at the skies. Included in the field trip is a hayride and berry picking. Colorado Teaching Standards: Earth Science; weather patterns, cloud formations, Costs: $5.00/student (minimum charge: $75.00)
TRACK E: "LET'S GET DIRTY" This ninety minute field trip explores the nature and importance of good soil. Through hands on experiences, videos and talks your students will learn fundamentals of soil. Included in the field trip is a hay ride and berry picking. Colorado Teaching Standards: Earth Science; properties of soil. Costs: $5.00/student (minimum charge: $75.00)

Notes: Field Trip Adventures are designed for groups of 15 or more school age children. Public/private school teachers and home school coordinators are free. Parents and siblings (siblings age 3 and under are free), but will be expected to pay for berries picked if applicable. Parents may be asked to help during the tour.
