Requirements for all
employees:
- ~All employees will be
assigned a main job position that they are responsible for, even though they
will trade out with others for a change of pace to cashier, drive berry
train, be greeter, and work at berry check-in.
- ~All jobs here at the
farm will entail being able to lift and move produce up to #50 and be able
to drive the berry train tractor for 2 hours at time.
- ~ Beyond the main job
description, all employees will be expected to be flexible if needed in
performing the jobs of running the store including cash register, berry
train, berry check-in, greeting, sorting, re-stocking, phone, etc.

Positions we are
Interviewing for the 2008 season:
Berry Train Driver:

Hours:
1.
Mid. June for three weeks, Tuesday Friday, during the June crop of
strawberries, from 8:00 a.m. 1 p.m. (During this time it would be 20
hr./week)
2.
Last week in July to whenever the berries freeze. (Usually the first of
October sometime), Tuesday Saturday, 8 a.m. 4 p.m. (During this time 40 hr.
/ wk.)

Wages: $8/hour + 20%
discount of store produce items, food bank produce is free; two containers of
each strawberries and red raspberries free per week, and other store items are
wholesale plus 10%.

Responsibilities would include:
- Driving the train
to take people to the strawberry fields
- Communicating our
berry picking system
- Serving customers
in the strawberry field
- Having boxes on the
train for picking
- If there is a lull
in the action, making berry boxes will be a priority and other projects
as needed.

Berry Check-in Host:
- Hours:
Last week in July to whenever the berries freeze. (Usually the first of
October sometime)
~Tuesday Friday hours would be 8 a.m. 1:30
p.m.
~ Saturdays - hours would be 8 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
This is a 30 hours/week position
- Wages: $8/hour +
20% discount of store produce items, food bank produce is free; two
containers of each strawberries and red raspberries free per week, and other
store items are wholesale plus 10%.
- Responsibilities
would include:
1.
Each day set up and run the berry check-in system
2.
Make up berry boxes to put on the train
3.
Keep Got cans full of water for pick-your own flower vases
4.
Keep all pick-your-own tools and rows in neat order (i.e. putting out
scissors, shovels, vases, signs, etc.)
5.
Be able to answer questions and direct traffic in the back barn area

Welcome customers as they come into the barn and help direct them where
to go
2.
Assist shopping customers with questions or anything they may need
3.
Answer the telephone
4.
Be the back up person to help with berry check-in if needed
5.
Check bathrooms once an hour for neatness
6.
When not busy with customers, help restock the store
7.
Occasionally go pick a head of lettuce or cilantro for a customer if it
is not available in the barn and the field staff cant get to it.
